MEDUSA

Lightwork, 2026

Medusa stands apart from any series—an independent work born from experimentation. It was the first Lightwork in which I explored the use of an orange translucent PPC panel, allowing the light itself to become an active part of the composition.

Created in Nosara, Costa Rica, the work portrays one of the ocean's oldest living creatures. Graceful yet resilient, jellyfish have drifted through Earth's oceans for hundreds of millions of years, embodying adaptation, flow, and timeless movement.

To complete the project, I carried the work to the beach in the hope of capturing a sunset whose colors would resonate with its inner glow. That evening, nature responded with an extraordinary display. The rare orange sky seemed to mirror the illuminated Medusas almost perfectly—as if the sunset itself had become part of the artwork.
